Dentist Virgin

Cooper had to go the dentist for the first time in November. He was a little scared he was assured many times that he wasn't going to be hurt. The visit alone was scary enough for him as he had no idea what he was really going to have happen. The dental assistant came out and got him and I was allowed to go back with them for the first time. We went back to the room where Cooper would be getting treated by Dr. Tooloo. Not sure what I expected or what Cooper expected with a name like that but I think we were both quite surprised. Dr. Tooloo came into the room and we were both certainly surprised by a 6'3"ish African man with a very thick accent. Cooper did a great job doing what the he was asked to do but we did find that he had a cavity and was going to have it fixed.
Because this is an older pic from November, we actually had the cavity filling appointment on Monday January 3rd. He did great. I was really scared for him as we couldn't go back to be with him which is a terrible rule. Any time your kid, whose only 5, is getting laughing gas and novacain, you want to be there for him. I know he was terrified not having me or his mom there with him but he was able to keep from crying until he came out into the waiting room. After the appointment, he was playing with the tooth with his tongue for most of the day. I let him play hookie after the appointment and while Cosmo was at school, Cooper and I went out to lunch and played a bunch with some of his new Christmas toys. After that, we both took a nap together before goin to get Cosmo at daycare.
