Grasshopper

When I first saw this, I thought for sure it was supposed to be sitting upside down and that it was an alligators head. Boy was I instructed that I was wrong...lol. It's a grasshopper, he's just missing a couple sets of legs.

Gift Shop Fun

Found a series of three of these in one of the gift shops in Greenville. They had some seriously odd things in there. Some were humorous, others were just plain out there.

The only one...

Though I slowed down by every swampy area, mud hole, and cached in some quiet remote areas, there just were no live moose to be seen. This was the only one I actually got to see...Oh well.

B-52 Cache

Yay! This was not a difficult cache, especially in doing it with some other searchers, just a long drive slow drive to get there along the Scammon Road. The B-52 crash was a place I had visited back in the spring of 1996 and it was nice to come back years later to see that nothing has really changed with the exception of the additional flags all over the place and a new wreath. Thanks for a great cache.

Paperwork

With all that hasn't really been going on at work in the last couple months, I really started getting into the whole making stuff out of paper, or papercraft. Sometimes it can be calming to complete easy projects and get a quick sense of accomplisment while other times its frustrating as hell to be working an a really complicated project and have one little mistake screw up the whole thing. I started this helicoptor once with standard copier paper and it was goin well until I got to the engine pieces on top. I couldn't get them correct and it frustrated me to no end. I got tired of trying and drawered it for a while. I was cleaning out my desk tbe week when we found out we might get moved and I ended up scrapping the stupid thing. Last week, I decided to give it another shot and this time to try it out of cardstock so it would last longer and hold shape better. I got it to the point where the only thing left to do is complete the land gear or undercarriage. Keep in mind, the whole thing is made of nothing more than paper cardstock and Elmers glue. Everything from the body to the rotors and the tiny little tubes holding them on are just cardstock, so you can imagine how much time and effort this took. Here it is so far. I'm kind of proud of myself for taking the time to get it as far as I did and only hope it survives. Just another odd use for paper...

Neat Commercial

I'm sure everyone has already seen this commercial at least once as it's used a ton on television as well as when watching full episodes of shows on NBC.com and Discovery.com. I just really like the idea of having the people as the background and how much thought must have gone into this. Though I would never buy a Prius, this commercial is a winner.

Leonard's Mills

Took the kids to Leonard's Mills yesterday which is a small late colonial village with volunteers who dress up in period wear. The weather was perfect for the first time in over a month and I didn't want to sit at home doing nothing. I invited Wendy along and off we went. I completely forgot to get cash from the ATM so thankfully Wendy had cash with her or we would have had to leave and come back. We headed down in and the first thing you come to is a covered bridge.

Once you head through the bridge, everything opens up into a field and the buildings. Cooper got to see people cooking beans and biscuits over a large fire, a team of small oxen, a blacksmith working, a woman spinning wool into yarn, some men splittin logs into long shingles, horse drawn wagon rides, a man working a deer hide, and of course got to throw a tomahawk at a log target. We took a ride on the wagon which was kind of nice but pretty short. Regardless, we had a good time and got to spend the day outside instead of stuck inside playing Candyland and watching Transformers again.

Thanks to BangorMoms.net for posting about this or I wouldn't have known to go.

Double Fisting

Tried putting the handles on Cosmo's bottle tonight. He does ok holding it but can't hold his arms up high enough to keep the nipple full of formula. He'll get it...

Maps

I was looking at sites with really odd maps and came across this....I don't have tattoos because other than my family, I can't think of anything that I feel that passionate about. Odd. I found it at Strangemaps.wordpress.com but the photos were also posted on the Strange Maine blog here on blogspot.
